We are pleased to offer new riders a free taster session on one of our scooters or motorcycles or a free assessment for those with some previous riding experience who wish to progress.
One of the key principles of defensive driving is maintaining a safe following distance. By keeping a safe distance from the vehicle in front, a driver has more time to react to sudden stops or maneuvers, reducing the risk of rear-end collisions. Another important principle is scanning the road ahead for potential hazards, such as pedestrians, other vehicles, or road debris. By being aware of these hazards, a driver can anticipate potential dangers and take steps to avoid them.
These sessions will last up to 1/2 hour and are taken on our pad at the training centre.
There is no fee, pressure or obligation to book a course. It will also allow you to meet our team, bikes and ask any questions or concerns you may have.
If you’re a beginner we will spend the time seeing how you take to riding a scooter or motorcycle. The idea would be to see if we can get you to move away and stop smoothly, a little slow control practice, maybe a figure 8 and a “U” turn and perhaps if you’re on a manual, some gear changing. If you can do all of these things comfortably, it should give you a head start if you want to move on to take CBT.
If you hold a CBT or have some previous riding experience this free assessment will give you an idea of the way forward if you want to now proceed to full licence.
During this assessment we will set some exercises to see how balanced, controlled and confident you are.
If you want to take the big bike tests A2 or A, depending on skill level, we may want you to ride one of our large 500cc or 650cc bikes.
If you been training with another provider and want to switch to us we may also ask you to attend an assessment.
We run these free assessments at our Sudbury centre most afternoons at 3.30pm Mon – Fri or 8.00am Sat or Sundays
Advance booking is necessary so please call us on 0208 841 5506 to book a place.
